In the study of social sciences and humanities, a scientist can easily get trapped, slip up, or even fall into an attitude of unnecessary academic reductionism when the results of his research do not accurately represent what he is studying. In conditions like this, the work or research results produced experience – what I often call – a crisis of representation of truth. This means that the work produced experiences problems in terms of precision and accuracy of meaning. The academic findings and theoretical propositions put forward in this kind of work suffer from fundamental weaknesses as part of an appropriate academic enterprise, namely the deviation from the truth of the academic utterances or arguments that they construct.
