Syllables are the set of sounds that are pronounced in a single voice emission. In Spanish, the syllable can be from one letter to five letters, but in all cases it must have at least one vowel.

A word can be made up of a single syllable, for example "today", or by several syllables. For example: es - truc - tu - ra.

Words can be classified according to their number of syllables:

Examples of words with simple syllables
