The spirit of servitude and turning to God the Mighty and Sublime. It is the supplication of al-Khidr, which was taught to him by Ali bin Abi Talib.

It was narrated that Kumail bin Ziyad Al-Nakh’i saw Imam Ali bin Abi Talib, peace be upon him, prostrating himself in prayer with this supplication on the night of the middle of Sha’ban.

Al-Majlisi said in Kumayl’s supplication: It is the best supplication, which is the supplication of al-Khidr, and Ali bin Abi Talib taught him Kumayl, and he is one of the best of his companions.

Al-Muhaddith Al-Qummi said: It is one of the well-known supplications.

It is called on the night of the middle of Sha'ban and the night of Friday. It is useful in the sufficiency of the evil of enemies, in opening the door of sustenance, and in the forgiveness of sins. Both the sheikh and the master have narrated it, and I narrate it from the book of Misbah al-Muhajid.
