This book was written by an Arabic linguist born in Jaén, Spain named Ibnu Malik (d. 672 AH / 22 February 1274 AD). Together with the Al-Ajurrumiyah book, the Alfiyah Book is one of the basic books to be memorized by Islamic boarding school students besides the Al-Qur'an.
