In preparation for the arrival of millions of visitors in the summer months and holidays: The Wall Heritage Foundation is launching an innovative application using AR technology that will give every visitor a historical glimpse into the past and close guidance

The Western Wall Heritage Foundation is launching for the first time an augmented reality application using AR technology that allows the millions of visitors to the Western Wall plaza to experience the visit in an experiential way and with a historical perspective of 2,000 years.

In the application named "Kotel AR" an innovative augmented reality technology has been implemented which actually recognizes the reality viewed through the camera of the smart device (smartphone) by scanning the space in the Western Wall plaza, and overlays it with virtual information details. Thus, the users of the application actually watch the physical reality together with the virtual reality, in one glance.

As part of the new service, which is open to the general public free of charge and available for download on Android and Apple devices, the visitor will be able to discover the image he would have seen if he had stood at the point where he is currently standing two thousand years ago. As part of this, he will be able to get a detailed overview of the dimensions and parts of the Western Wall, view the columns of the royal autumn that decorated the Temple, experience the singing of the Levites in the Temple, feel the atmosphere of the pilgrims to Jerusalem, watch the blessing of the priests from a bird's eye view and even travel through key periods and landmarks in history of the site from the Second Temple period.
