Laboratório Lawall

Company founded on 07/13/1977 by Dr. Nilo Eduardo de Oliveira Lawall, pharmacist - biochemist graduated on 06/28/1976 by the Faculty of Pharmacy and Biochemistry of the Federal University of Juiz de Fora. Its first headquarters was located at Rua Pedro Scapim, it was a modest structure with only one employee at the reception and Dr. Nilo himself assuming all other functions. It was a time when the specialty of Clinical Pathology was in its infancy and all procedures were very laborious; doing a simple glucose measurement was a struggle; it took more than two hours. The test for the diagnosis of pregnancy used at the time called Galli-Manini whose procedures consisted of injecting into the subcutaneous tissue of the frog, 5 ml of the patient's urine and waiting 45 minutes; then a drop of ether was dripped onto the frog's back, stimulating his urination, which was collected in a petri dish. This urine was examined and if it contained sperm, the test was positive (BHCG, stimulates the release of sperm) These facts demonstrate how the Laboratory evolved. Since the founding of the laboratory, Dr. Nilo has had a great concern with quality and good service and in a short time the Laboratory was already recognized for his work in the medical environment of the city.
