Tembang Sunda is a traditional musical art originating from the southwest of the Greater Sunda archipelago. This art is usually performed by a singer to the accompaniment of playing traditional Sundanese musical instruments such as the Kacapi indung (large lute), flute, Kacapi detailk (small lute) and the fiddle.

The Sundanese song was originally also known as Cianjuran. The term Sundanese song was introduced since 1962 on the grounds that the art of the Cianjuran style was not only limited to one particular area but had been widely adopted in other areas in West Java. Sundanese tembang sometimes brings confusion because many other types of Sundanese music are referred to as Sundanese tembang.
