About Librairie Bon Pasteur Togo
The Bon Pasteur Library of Lomé is a work of the Archdiocese of Lomé
The Bon Pasteur Library of Lomé is a work of the Archdiocese of Lomé. Founded in 1906 by the German Fathers, its purpose was to supply the schools of the Catholic mission with textbooks and school supplies.
On August 18, 1962, the small shop was incorporated: LIBRAIRIE CATHOLIC. In 1964, thanks to a gift from Cardinal Doëpfner, consecrator of his Excellency Mgr Dosseh-Anyron, a second bookstore was opened on Rue du Commerce. The same year, the Catholic Library became LIBRAIRIE BON PASTEUR in recognition of Cardinal Doëpfner, whose home parish bears the name “Bon Pasteur”.
Later in 1975, the Librairie Bon Pasteur became a limited liability company – SARL- and since 2018 SARL U.
In 2001, to meet the needs of customers, after the exhibition and sale at the Togo 2000 fair, a 3rd point of sale was opened in Hédzranawoé opposite the market. All this to get closer to the customers since the population is gradually moving away from the city center towards the outskirts.
In November 2009, at the opening of the Catholic University UCAO-UUT, the bookstore was extended by a 4th point of sale in Sanguéra in order to allow students to have on site the books they will need. But, the results did not meet our expectations and so in August 2011, the bookstore was brought to the level of Adidogomé not far from the military camp, next to Moov Adidogomé and not far from the parish of Marie Mère du Rédempteur.
