Libro de Enoch

The Book of Enoch is an apocryphal book in the Bible is not Catholic, is part of the Ethiopian Orthodox Bible but not accepted as canonical for the other Christian churches, despite having been found in the Septuagint. Ethiopian Jews included it in the Tanach, Jews exclude it current.

The book was published in the first century AD and consists of several parts written in the third century. C. and I A.D.

Book of Judgment

Chapters 1 to 5, is blessing the words of Enoch the righteous, they will live when the wicked are doomed. It is estimated that its composition dates from before 200 BC. C..

Book of the Rangers or Angels Fall

Chapters 6-36, focuses on the theme of the Watchers (angels) who interpret Genesis 6:1-5 says that these angels had sex with women and begat giants (Nephilim), famous beings violence unleashed on earth and perverted humanity. In addition, the Book of the Watchers is characterized by uniting and complementing the Rangers stories with the Flood story universal, present in the genesis, and a detailed description of hell, purgatory and paradise. It was written before 160. C.

Book of parables or the messiah and the kingdom

Chapters 37-71, of a messianic prophesies the coming of the Son of man, the fall of the kings and powerful and the day of the Elect. It is the only part that was not found in the manuscripts of Qumran. 63 after writing. C. at the end of the first century. C. or in the first century

Book of the heavenly luminaries change or astronomical Book

Chapters 72-82, discussed in detail the ancient solar calendar Hebrew, according to the Book of Jubilees, which cites this book 4.17 of the luminaries of heaven. It was written between 250 and 190 BC. C.

Book of Dreams

Chapters 83-90, reports two obtained by Enoch apocalyptic visions in dreams, the first simply announces that the Earth will be destroyed and the second is a story of humanity and of Israel until the end of time, in which the actors are represented as symbolic animals. Written between 161 and 125 a. C.

Letter of Enoch and Apocalypse of Weeks

Chapters 91-105, divides history into ten "weeks", interpreting the past and projecting the future eschatological. Written after 135 a. C., probably between 110 and 60 a. C.

Fragments

Chapters 106 and 107, appear to be a part of the Book of Noah, that has been lost but is present in the Dead Sea Scrolls. Predict the crimes of humanity and the advent of Messianic times with the triumph of the righteous. Chapter 108 explicitly says it's another Book of Enoch and missing in several manuscripts.

The first Christians had great appreciation for the Book of Enoch, as evidenced by the canonical Epistles of Jude (6 and 14-16) and 2 Peter (2:4) as well as non-canonical writings of Barnabas and Justin Martyr ( 100-165), Athenagoras (170), Tatian (110-172), Irenaeus, Bishop of Lyon (115-185), Clement of Alexandria (150-220), Tertullian (160-230), Lactantius (260-325) and also those of Methodius of Philippi, Minucius Felix, Commodian and Priscillian (d. 385).
