Lipstick has been a beauty necessity among women, it seems, as far back as the pharaohs. Cleopatra had lipstick made by crushing carmine beetles, which provided a deep red pigment to the lips. Then along came lipsticks that gave shimmering effects, by using the preadolescence in fish scales. Red lips and white faces became a fashion statement during the reign of Queen Elizabeth I. But, by this time, the lipsticks were made from beeswax and stains from plants. Later, the movie industry helped lipstick gain popularity, and it became an everyday addition to many woman's faces. During the Second World War lipstick again got a very high position in the fashion world due to its uses in different movies. The women of every walks of life started to put lipstick on their lips and it really good to look at. Even the male actors who played different roles in the theater used to put lipstick. These lipsticks are called "manstick". But generally it was the rule that women could only use lipstick only when she attained her adulthood. In modern times the popularity of lipstick has spread world-wide. In many different ways one can put lipstick. Deep color lipstick can be used as eyeliner. One can apply lipstick on the cheeks and very nicely blend. It can be used as face paint. But above all one must put it very nicely on the lips. Lipstick can create magic. In any festive occasion one need to apply lipstick very sharply and obviously matching with the draperies.

There are many aspects that are kept in mind while choosing the lip color.

1. The women who have large lips they should stick to purple, bronze and browns. These colors are the best for the large lips.

2. Women who have thinner lips should use the wine, berry cappuccino and mauve color.

3. Those that have olive skin tenor they can use warm peach, brown and terracotta shades.

4. If anyone wants to flaunt to have a matt effect on the lips they can use matt lipstick or otherwise one can put a piece of tissue paper in between the lips and press the same. This will extract the extra oil of the glossy lipstick. And it gives a very matte effect. On can also sprinkle a little bit of talcum powder on the lips and very carefully brush up the extra lipstick.

5. One can also use a lip balm. This will give a very simple but very attractive look.

6. In any special occasion, party, discos one can use a deep color lipstick matching with lip glosses.

7. To have a carefree look one can apply a very light shade of pink and red lipstick and this can create a magic.

8. On the other hand one can get a hot lip if she uses really dark shades. It can be useful to gain attention among the multitude.

But above all one must be careful about choosing the good quality lipstick. One should take care of the skin while choosing. After all it is the health that matter first.
