Lyre

Lyre turns your Android device into a musical instrument. At the top of the screen is a Status Bar / Menu Bar. Next is a View showing sheet music to play. Clicking in the left 10% of the sheet music view selects the previous song, clicking in the right 10% of the sheet music view selects the next song. Below the sheet music are the keys for your instrument. The App will lock in whichever orientation it is started in. For phones that want to lock you into portrait orientation there is a configuration item to force landscape orientation. Click on the Status Bar to bring up the menu.

Commands are:

Configure - Pops up the Configuration menu.

Help - Displays this text.

Quit - leave the app.

Configuration Menu:

ForceLandscape - put app into landscape orientation. (toggle)

InitialScale - percentage to zoom sheet music window. adjust to fit sheet music to your device and orientation.

Instrument - pick any of the MIDI instruments. starts with OBOE.

Menu - adjust the pop up menu size

Percent - sets percent of available screen size for the keyboard.

Scale - toggles between pentatonic and heptatonic instrument.

Status - adjust the status bar size

The app creates a Lyre directory which contains two subdirectories - hept and pent for the two scale configurations. In each directory you will find png files for each of the included songs. To add songs, simply create a png file containing the sheet music for your song and add it to the appropriate directory. Included songs are 756 pixels wide if you wish to keep added songs consistent with the included songs.

Be sure to check out the Ocarina Recorder Songbook in the Google Play Store for more songs. Simply take a screenshot of any song, crop to the sheet music, size to 756 pixels wide, and copy to appropriate directory. While it is titled the Ocarina Recorder Songbook it is good for any treble clef instrument.
