This application gets the picture of full camera capability highest resolution available for photo taking (not the poor preview resoultion) and then uses a special, fast processing alghoritm for high resolution decode, crop and maintain the high framerate output for real-time zoomed camera image.

Magnifier takes into account the full resolution which is cropped into zoomed camera image view. Higher the camera resolution is, the better zoom effect and better magnify effects can be expected.
