Manticore

The dropship left the carrier, plunging deep into the atmosphere. The battle carriers were doing their job, they had established a beachhead and made it so the aliens cannot simply take to space and retreat. This was to be the final battle, the end of a long conflict. The aliens had made the first contact a year ago, they pretended that they were looking for peace but that was never their intention. By the time interspace military had responded, there was already so much damage done, so many forces to contend with…how could they fight back?
