We constantly hear people say they cannot do math or they do not understand math. We want to change the conversation.

At MathRuler, we provide activities so you can help a student become “math literate” using what's around them to play number games. When you are walking, count your steps. Look at the numbers on your elevator, the subway stops, or count how many taxis, trucks or red cars go by as you are waiting for the bus. Look for shapes in buildings, signs and even count your bathroom tiles. Have your student count the forks, knives and spoons for dinner and how many apples you are buying at the store. Collect pennies, nickels, buttons, bottle caps, bread sealer squares, paper clips and other items for sorting and counting. If you are always counting things - your student will learn to count. Make it a game and they will think of math as fun!
