Myanmar Disaster Alert (MDA) App is a free mobile app for public use and provides the

natural disaster information such as fires, floods, cyclone, droughts, earthquakes, thunder

lighting, tsunami and etc. It is a mobile-based online platform where people can receive early

warning alerts for current and upcoming disaster near their region, and its location-based

information will be sent to your smart phone registered beforehand. Then, dos and don’ts as

a checklist for 9 different types of hazards and its videos and contact numbers of local

Department of Disaster Management offices and other hotline numbers are added in app.

Moreover, MDA provides weather forecasts, hazard and disaster conditions, information,

emergency contact numbers for each region and Disaster Management Law and Rules. This

application also linked to Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement and Department

of Disaster Management websites.
