Meera Basu is a renowned name in Indian fashion circuit.

The success of Meera began when Meera Basu, a young widow started a saree business to sustain her family from her home in Kolkata in 1975.

Her sense of style and hard efforts paid off and soon she started a full-fledged production unit of her own. Since, then, there was no way looking back.

Over the years, keeping within the periphery of tradition, ‘Meera’ evolved its signature style with its unique designs and colour schemes. Apart from sarees Meera also deals in dress materials and dupattas.

Established in the year 1979, at Kolkata, West Bengal, India, we “Meera Basu” are engaged in manufacturing and retailing of an exclusive range of Sarees, which include Muslin Silk Sarees, Mooga Silk Sarees, Katan Silk Sarees, Kota Silk Sarees, Kora Silk Sarees, Tussar Sarees, Soft Silk Sarees, Cotton Dhanekhali Sarees, Tangail Sarees, Cotton Daccai Sarees , Jamdani Sarees and Kantha Stich Sarees.

Traditional Bengal handloom sarees have acquired a distinct status with 'Meera' trademark and are widely appreciated for beautiful designs and patterns. Apart from this, our master weaves are appreciated and demanded by famous fashion designers such as Rohit Bal, Abu Jani, Sandeep Khosla, TarunTahiliani and others. The journey that was started by Meera Basu is now carried forward by a team of people under the able leadership of Swati and ChinmoyBasu. The duo’s passion for reviving some of the lost arts of Bengal loom have led them to open new frontiers -as with their pioneering efforts, they have successfully introduced the appreciation of the magic of Bengal Traditional weaves to the Western World.
