Without a doubt, he was a prophet who performed mighty acts (Deuteronomy 34: 10-12). But even though God used him that way, he was just a simple human being. He was a “man of sentiments like ours,” just like the prophet Elijah, who appeared alongside him in a vision that took place in the days of Jesus (James 5:17; Matthew 17: 1-9).
