Like secular music (non-Christian or religious music), what is commonly referred to as Christian music encompasses a vast range of genres such as praise, worship, and a myriad of genres that aim to glorify God.

Kiries, hymns, psalms and spiritual songs are sung to God or to one of his representations. Churches sing it in a cappella to worship God, occasionally, musical instruments are used only to express praise towards the deity.
