The free application MyDiabetFriendDoctor is an individual assistant for a person with an insulin-dependent type of diabetes, helps manage diabetes and keep blood glucose in target ranges, taking into account age, gender and health characteristics.

The application can be customized to take into account the individual characteristics of insulin therapy.

The application records the entered data:

- blood glucose level,

- ketones in urine/blood,

- consumed carbohydrates, fats, proteins,

- the amount of insulin administered to absorb food,

- the amount of insulin administered to correct blood glucose,

- amount of residual insulin,

- amount of basal insulin,

- duration and intensity of physical activity, as well as additional carbohydrates consumed,

By entering data on blood glucose levels, ketones, and food consumed, the user receives tips for easier management of their diabetes.

The success of insulin therapy is influenced by factors such as illness, alcohol consumption, stress, periodic conditions in women, and upcoming physical activity. By noting these factors in the program, you can more accurately adjust the process of insulin therapy.

The program allows the user to take into account factors influencing the calculations of the required dose of insulin and additional carbohydrates, including during physical activity, taking into account its duration and intensity.

The application suggests the time when you need to start eating after the injection in order to synchronize the absorption of carbohydrates and the process of insulin. Proteins and fats are absorbed in the human body more slowly than carbohydrates. To take this into account, the application may suggest dividing the insulin dose into parts and administering them according to a specific schedule in order to synchronize the process of absorption of proteins and fats with the insulin action profile.

The application allows you to set reminders automatically and manually so as not to miss an important event: measure blood glucose levels, ketones, start eating, take additional carbohydrates during physical activity, and timely monitor other data showing the effect of successful insulin therapy.

In the application, you can calculate insulin doses by entering data on the food eaten both in bread units and in carbohydrates, as well as simply selecting products from the list already installed in the application, or adding to it yourself.
