Remotely control Optoma Creative Touch 3 series monitors over LAN
Optoma Remote Control lets you control Optoma Creative Touch 3 series interactive flat panel monitors directly from your Android phone or tablet using the RS-232 over TCP protocol on your local network.
Designed for schools, offices, and conference rooms, this app replaces the need for a physical remote or on-screen menu navigation. Connect to any Optoma 3651RK monitor on your LAN and take full control in seconds.
FEATURES
Power on and off — turn the monitor on remotely using Wake-on-LAN (WoL) magic packets or power it off via RS-232 command.
Wake from display sleep — automatically sends the correct Video Mute Off command to wake the monitor from standby (black screen), a state where standard power-on commands are rejected by the device.
Input source selection — quickly switch between HDMI 1, HDMI 2, HDMI Front, USB Type-C, VGA, DisplayPort, Android, and Slot-in PC inputs.
Volume control — adjust the volume level with a convenient slider.
Mute — toggle audio mute on and off with a single tap.
Brightness control — adjust the display brightness without touching the on-screen menu.
Freeze — freeze the current screen image instantly, useful during presentations and classroom activities.
Multi-device support — save multiple monitors with custom names, IP addresses, ports, and MAC addresses. Select the monitor you want to control from a simple device list.
Real-time connection status — a color-coded indicator shows whether the app is connected, connecting, or disconnected. The app automatically attempts to connect on launch.
Auto-retry on power-on — when powering on a monitor that is fully off, the app sends a Wake-on-LAN packet and retries the TCP connection automatically until the monitor becomes available.
HOW IT WORKS
The Optoma Creative Touch 3 series monitors support remote management via RS-232 serial commands sent over a TCP connection (Telnet, port 23). This app communicates with the monitor over your local Wi-Fi or Ethernet network — no cloud, no internet connection, and no account required.
Simply enter the monitor's local IP address, TCP port (default: 23), and optionally its MAC address for Wake-on-LAN. The app handles the rest.
REQUIREMENTS
An Optoma Creative Touch 3 series interactive flat panel monitor connected to your local network with RS-232 over TCP enabled.
Your Android device must be on the same local network (Wi-Fi or Ethernet) as the monitor.
Android 11 or higher.
PROTOCOL LIMITATIONS
Due to limitations in the Optoma RS-232 protocol, certain monitor parameters can only be set but not read back. This means the app can send a command to change these settings, but it cannot retrieve their current values from the monitor. When you first connect, sliders and controls for these parameters will show default values rather than the monitor's actual state.
The following parameters are set-only (no readback available): Freeze, Color, Backlight, Treble, Bass, Balance, Language, Power Mode (Standby), and Pixel Shift interval.
All other parameters — including Power state, Input Source, Volume, Mute, Brightness, Contrast, Video Mute, Sound Mode, Picture Mode, Color Temperature, and Aspect Ratio — support both reading and setting, so the app will display their actual current values upon connection.
PRIVACY
This app does not collect any personal data. All configuration (monitor names, IP addresses, ports, MAC addresses) is stored locally on your device and is never transmitted to any external server. The app contains no ads, no analytics, and no tracking. For full details, see our Privacy Policy.
