PDF Blackout: Editor + Secure

Redact PDFs and images directly on your Android device with PDF Blackout. Mark sensitive text, search documents with on-device OCR, organize pages, and export a reviewed copy without uploading your files.

PDF Blackout is designed for focused, local document editing. Open a PDF or image, activate redaction mode, and draw solid cover areas over information you do not want to share. Existing redactions can be moved, resized, recolored, duplicated, copied to other pages, or removed.

Key features:

• Redact text and areas in PDFs and images

• Search PDF text where supported, or use bundled on-device OCR for scans and images

• Review search matches before applying redactions

• Reorder, rotate, duplicate, or delete PDF pages

• Zoom and pan for precise editing

• Undo and redo document changes

• Choose preset or custom redaction colors

• Export a PDF or PNG copy with a suggested new file name

• Verify exported redaction areas and clean metadata

• Process documents locally without an internet connection

Export is designed around saving a separate copy through Android's document picker. Before export, you can review the output format, file name, and quality profile.

Privacy by design:

The app does not request internet access. OCR uses a bundled recognition model and runs on the device. Files remain under your control in the storage location you choose.
