Indonesian language has experienced very rapid development as a result of the advancement of knowledge, technology and art. Its use is also increasingly widespread in various domains of use, both verbally and in writing. Therefore, a reference book is needed that can be used as a guide and reference for various Indonesian language users, especially in the use of written language, properly and correctly.

In this connection, the Ministry of Education and Culture's Language Development and Development Agency needs to develop a new Indonesian grammar by publishing General Guidelines for Indonesian Spelling. This guideline is prepared to improve the General Guidelines for Enhanced Indonesian Spelling. This guide is expected to accommodate the rapid development of Indonesian language.

Hopefully the publication of guidelines directly or indirectly will accelerate the orderly process in Indonesian language so as to strengthen the function of Indonesian as the language of the country.

On November 30, 2015, Permendiknas 46/2009 concerning General Guidelines for Enhanced Indonesian Spelling (EYD) was revoked and declared invalid because it was replaced by Permendikbud 50/2015 concerning General Guidelines for Indonesian Spelling (PUEBI). PUEBI manuscripts circulating on the internet are generally in the form of PDF so that it is difficult to search by search engines and referred to by specific links. PUEBI should be available in HTML or APK format to meet these needs.
