Primbon comes from the Javanese word, bon (mbon or

mpon) which means parent. Then the word gets the prefix pri or function which functions to expand the base word. So, primbon can be interpreted as the parent of a collection of notes. Records that contain that important knowledge are then collected into a primbon book so that the record can now be studied easily Many things can be predicted through Sundanese primaries, starting from character, sustenance, dreams, medicine, marriage mate, even predictions about the length of one's life can be predicted by calculation based on the rules of the primbon book.
