PsychiZag 2017

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

On behalf of the Organizing Committee and members of Psychiatry department Zagazig University, I would like to welcome each of you to our 3rd annual conference:

Psychiatry as a brain disease.

This conference is a step forward on the road of being responsive and community focused. Psychiatry is one of the area warranting further investigation, as it is a major health problem in Egypt with increasing annual incidence.

Psychiatric disorders, affect millions of people around the world. Without intervention, they can have devastating effects and interfere with daily life. Decades of research led to a variety of therapeutic options for people with psychiatric disorders. Researchers in neuroscience and related disciplines are studying genes and brain areas affected by psychiatric disorders in humans in an effort to develop better therapies alongside more traditional treatments.

Recent studies are helping scientists identify factors that increase the risk of developing a psychiatric disorder, including a person’s genetic makeup and exposure to early life stress or brain trauma.

We look forward to your participation in this conference, believing that it will be fruitful, joyful and memorable.

First and Second March 2017 will be memorable days in the map of Egyptian psychiatry conferences. My personal respect and thanks go out to all of you.
