Real VU Meter Overlay

Turn your Android phone, tablet, or Samsung DeX screen into a vintage Hi-Fi VU meter display.

Real VU Meter Overlay adds realistic audio meters over your Android screen, inspired by classic Hi-Fi equipment, analog needle meters, LED bars, and vintage power meters.

Start the floating bubble, open your favorite music or video app, then tap the bubble to launch a full-screen landscape VU meter.

Features:

• Floating VU meter bubble for music and video apps

• Full-screen landscape VU meter view

• Samsung DeX and external display support

• Horizontal LED meters

• Vertical LED meters

• Classic analog needle meters

• Multiple vintage-style skins

• Realistic needle movement with attack, release, spring and damping behavior

• Audio response presets: Natural VU, Fast LED, Classic Needle, Realistic Needle and Bass Heavy

• Red minimize button and green quick settings button

• Long-press bubble menu with Settings and Exit

• Great for Android streamers, tablets, old phones, DeX setups and vintage Hi-Fi racks

Free version:

The free version includes selected VU meter skins and may show ads in the main screen, settings screen and about/help screen.

Ads are never displayed over the floating bubble, full-screen VU meter or meter overlay.

Pro version:

Real VU Meter Pro unlocks all premium skins and removes ads.

Permissions:

Real VU Meter Overlay uses Android overlay permission to display the floating bubble and full-screen VU meter over other apps.

The app uses Android audio capture/microphone-related permission only to animate the VU meters in real time. Audio is processed locally on the device for visual meter movement. The app does not record, save, upload or share audio content.

Compatibility note:

Audio capture depends on Android system support and on whether the audio app allows capture. Some apps or browsers may restrict audio capture. For the best full-screen experience, gesture navigation is recommended.

Made with love for music, vintage Hi-Fi and classic audio equipment aesthetics.
