Please note: This is aimed at the local market, and is a simple app for listening to the live radio stream. It is not capable of playing alternative streams, and the current version is limited to 48K AAC+. Also, the Radio Station is still in the development phase and as such, is mostly mixed music.

We've got your music, we're down for requests; shoutouts; community notices; events and fundraising!

Since KCR (Kaitaia Community Radio) went defunct almost a decade ago, we've been lacking a real community radio station with the reach and commitment to helping out those in our community who really need it.

Rekt Radio is a small project to bring back the glory days of local radio, with a touch of technology. Rekt is partially automated, but manned by locals, playing music specifically for locals.

Here at Rekt Radio, we also want to help you get your voice out on the airwaves! Do you want to run a radio show of your own? Are you a local band who wants to get some airtime? Get in touch!

We don't currently take advertisers, and any donations go straight back into recouping running costs.

Required permissions:

- INTERNET - Required for internet access for the Audio stream

- WAKE_LOCK - Used to keep device awake

- READ_PHONE_STATE - Used to detect phone calls, to pause Audio

- FOREGROUND_SERVICE - Self explanatory

- ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE - Used for detecting network connectivity

- MODIFY_AUDIO_SETTINGS - Used for volume and level controls
