Riyadhus Sholihin

Riyadhus Salihin is the name of one of the books of the collection of hadiths of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ which means the garden of the righteous, compiled by Imam Abu Zakariya Muhyiddin bin Syaraf An-Nawawi (Imam Nawawi). This book has been translated into Indonesian by Salim Bahreisy.

As conveyed by its author, Imam an-Nawawy, in the preamble to this book, Riyadhus Shalihin is meant to collect valid hadiths, which can pave the way to the hereafter; guidance for inner and outer etiquette; collecting suggestions and threats, training the soul, moral education, medicine for the heart, maintaining the body and others.

In this book the hadiths are grouped into chapters based on the main theme, for example morals (sincere, patience, piety, trust, social relations, etc.); etiquette (shyness, keeping secrets, keeping promises, respecting guests, eating etiquette, dressing etiquette, greeting); etiquette regarding the sick and the dead; the virtue of reading the Qur'an; virtues related to various types of prayer and fasting; jihad; dhikr and prayer; as well as prohibitions related to worship, muamalah, and certain living habits.

Riyadhus Salihin's book has been widely discussed by scholars. Among the scholars who preached was Shaykh [Muhammad ibn Allan Assiddiqi] with his book entitled Dalilul Falihin Syarh Riyadhus Shalihin. This book has also been translated. as well as other sharh books with clear sanad and used as a reference for Ulama' Jumhur who are pious and whose knowledge is clear.
