DESCRIPTION

The application is intended for practicing veterinarians specializing in companion animals and allows users to perform fast and accurate calculation of the required dosage administration of emergency medication for each patient, depending on body weight. Emergency medication is displayed based on the therapeutic effect and is presented as concentration available on the Romanian and European medical market. It is sorted into vertically columns, doses resulting from the use being directly displayed in milliliters (ml). In cases where doses are expressed as a range (eg. 50-100 mg/kg), the resulting calculations are made automatically based on the minimum dose. This simple and effective software application is provided with a cursor for selecting body mass in units of 1 kg between 1-60 kg, and provides the safety of administration of adequate doses, thus contributing to the implementation of optimal therapeutic management of patients with critical conditions.

The application was developed within the project entitled "Developing and implementing a new Android application useful in veterinary emergency medicine", project funded with the support of Fund for Bilateral Relations at National Level of Programme RO01 - Technical Assistance and Fund for Bilateral Relations at National Level by the EEA and Norway Grants 2009-2014.

Romanian Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society (RoVECCS) is a non-profit organization that aims to help through this application the veterinarian facing an emergency and can timely provide an effective medical strategy.

Aplicația a fost elaborată în cadrul proiectului “Dezvoltarea și implementarea unei noi aplicații Android utilă în medicina veterinară de urgență”, proiect finanțat cu sprijinul Fondului pentru Relații Bilaterale la nivelul Programului RO01 - Asistență tehnică și Fondul Bilateral la Nivel Național, în cadrul granturilor EEA şi Norvegiene 2009-2014.

Aplicația este concepută pentru personal medical-veterinar calificat și este disponibilă gratuit. A fost dezvoltată de către o echipă formată din Cosmin Mureșan, DVM, Andreas Lervik, DVM, Dipl. ECVAA și Florin Cumpănașu, DVM, medical software architect.

Autorii acestei aplicații nu își asumă răspunderea pentru informația rezultată din utilizarea acestei aplicații, pentru deciziile terapeutice, dozele medicației utilizate și pentru eventualele modificări în protocoalele terapeutice internaționale.
