S.A.A.G is a collective of hospitality industry professionals, food scholars and policy influencers from South Asian nations who believe in promoting regional unity through culinary diversity.

It is founded by hospitality industry insiders with a passion for gastronomy, each with expertise and experience that contribute to the association in distinctive ways.

S.A.A.G, through the annual Food for Thought Fest, aims to fill the lacuna which exists currently in authoritative representation for gastronomy at a regional level.

The Food for Thought Fest and its related media activities as well as the South Asian Association for Gastronomy are being designed to serve as a:

● Networking platform for food professionals, policy-makers, scholars and students

● Consolidator of existing and emerging knowledge of South Asian gastronomy, cooking traditions and culinary heritage.

● Thought leader for the region’s food and hospitality industry.

● The focal point for the region’s gastronomy sector for industry practitioners abroad.

Key Features

1.Book Food for Thought Fest and its related media activities

The event is a celebration of the region’s food traditions and traditional foods that unify the gastronomic heritage of the South Asian nations. The First edition was held at The India Habitat Centre, New Delhi on 17th and 18th October 2015. The Second edition was held on 23rd & 24th December 2016 at TAJ PALACE Hotel. The third edition on 23rd & 24th December at DLF PLACE Mall. The fourth edition was at the Embassy of Indonesia on 17th November, 2018.

● The event is broadly divided into 3 parts:

● THOUGHT FEST: Presentations of papers and talks, interviews and panel discussions

by scholars, journalists and professionals on various interesting topics around

gastronomy.

● FOOD FEST: The South Asia Culinary Showcase Includes cookery workshops and

demonstrations presenting culinary traditions.

● FUN FEST: Brings art, cultural entertainment and shopping under one roof with

installations, fest bazaar and various entertainers.
