🌐 CivicZone – Collaborative Public Security in Palma da Mão

SafeZone is an innovative collaborative public safety application designed to make cities safer with the help of the community itself.

⚠️ Required Permissions on Start

For the app to work correctly, you must grant the following permissions when opening the app for the first time:

Location (including in the background)

Camera

Microphone

Notifications

These permissions ensure that you can receive alerts, share your location, send videos of incidents, and interact safely.

🔍 How It Works

CivicZone uses an interactive map where users can:

✅ Report Zones:

Classify areas as Safe Zone, Unsafe Zone or Warning Zone based on actual occurrences. These zones are viewed by other users in real time.

🎥 Send Occurrence Videos:

Record videos of up to 3 seconds in specific locations and help show what's happening. Videos are available for 3 hours and can be voted on by other users with "Like" or "Dislike".

📍 Share Location with Friends:

Send friend requests and share your location with those you trust. Each user chooses their own icon on the map, making the experience personalized and safe.

💬 Local Chat with Community Moderation:

Talk to people in your region. Messages with 5 likes are highlighted, and offensive messages are automatically removed after 5 negative votes.

🧭 Safety Thermometer:

Based on surrounding alerts, the app displays a thermometer that indicates whether you are in a safe, neutral or dangerous zone.
