Salmo 143

1 Hear my prayer, O Lord, give ear to my supplication; answer me in your faithfulness and in your righteousness.

2 But do not bring your servant to judgment, for no one is righteous before you.

3 The enemy pursues me and crushes me to the ground; he makes me dwell in darkness, like those long dead.

4 My spirit is discouraged; my heart is in panic.

5 I remember ancient times; I meditate on all your works and consider what your hands have done.

6 I stretch out my hands to you; like the dry land, I thirst for you.

7 Make haste to answer me, Lord! My spirit is down. Do not hide your face from me, or I will be like those who go down to the pit.

8 Let me hear of your unfailing love in the morning, for in you I trust. Show me the way I should go, for to you I lift my soul.

9 Deliver me from my enemies, Lord, for in you I take refuge.

10 Teach me to do your will, for you are my God; may your kind Spirit lead me on level ground.

11 Preserve my life, O Lord, for thy name's sake; in your righteousness, bring me out of this trouble.

12 And in your unfailing love, annihilate my enemies; destroy all my adversaries, for I am your servant.
