The electronic patient file of the SBK Siemens company health insurance
With the SBK patient file app, you can use the electronic patient file (ePA) after a one-time registration.
In the EHR, your health data is bundled in one place. Simply upload the documents via the app or have your doctors post important documents. You always have an overview and can actively take care of your health.
Should it be necessary, you can quickly provide your doctors with the most important documents. With just a few simple steps, you can make data on previous illnesses, allergies or prescribed medication accessible to medical professionals.
You decide for yourself which data is stored in your ePA and which medical practices can access it. You also determine the period of release. In this way, you can give your doctor access, e.g. to post new documents at short notice or to accompany you to your treatment over the longer term.
As the central storage of your personal health data, the ePA must meet the strictest security requirements of the legislator and go through a complex approval process. Among other things, the encryption of the data and a particularly secure access procedure ensure that your data is kept safe.
Many more functions are planned for the future, which we will implement according to the specifications of the Telematics Society (gematik). Use is voluntary and free of charge for you.
FUNCTIONS
With this app you can
- Protect your personal health data with secure login
- Upload your medical documents such as doctor's letters, diagnoses, findings or medication plans to a secure storage location and manage them there
- share these documents with your doctors
- Have your doctors create and view digital documents: Vaccination card, maternity card, children's examination booklet, dental bonus booklet
- get an overview of the services SBK has taken on for you in the last six years
- Manage access permissions and substitutions
- Use the SBK patient file on multiple devices
SECURITY
As a statutory health insurance company, we ensure the best possible protection of your health data. You therefore need an SBK health card with the appropriate NFC interface and a securely issued PIN for this app. You can apply for both at your personal customer service.
To ensure that only you or persons authorized by you have access to your ePA, we will identify you securely once when you register. To do this, please select one of the following options in the app:
- PostIdent: Choose from an identification with your electronic identity card via the PostIdent app of Deutsche Post or in the post office
- Health card (eGK): Use your NFC-enabled eGK including the associated PIN
- Activation code: We will identify you in one of our SBK branches and give you an activation code

- Exclusively for SBK policyholders
- Android 10 or higher
- Compatible device with NFC interface
- no device with modified operating system
