Scan2IP

Scan2IP Android is a barcode scanning application for sending data directly from handheld Android devices to PC host, HTTP or TCP/IP

The application scan’s barcodes and sends it through WIFI to a PC as keyboard input, to a WEB page as HTTP call or directly to the TCP/IP address. The application supports the use of camera for Android devices that doesn’t have an integrated barcode scanner. Scan2IP is extending the range between computer and barcode scanning device, the range is determined of the WIFI range.

Scan2IP host is made as multiuser application so it can receive scanned data from multiple Android devices as central data capturing. This eliminates base stations for Bluetooth scanner devices or wires from wired scanners.

It only requires an Android device on the client side. On the host side it is possible to choose between Host program for keyboard input, WEB service as data receiver or receiving data directly through TCP/IP

Ideas for use of the application:

• Scenario 1: When doing inventory control, the Android scanner devices can easily be connected to Scan2IP host application, data is received directly in a draft open document on the host.

• Scenario 2: Incoming goods can be scanned already when leaving the truck, as long as there are WIFI coverage. Scanning directly into the ERP system parallel with keyboard input.
