The school nurses and young people of Hounslow and Richmond have designed and created a new and exciting app for secondary school children. If you are a young person between the ages of 11-19 or a parent or professional working with young people, then this app is for you. This unique and innovative app allows young people to contact their school nurse and access the services directly through text, email or phone contact.

After listening to the views of the British Youth Council, young people wanted their school nurse to be visible, accessible and confidential. This is the first app of its kind to do this, and it offers a safe place for students to ensure they get correct and reliable health information, and allow school nurses to improve access and engagement with young people. It also contains information pages on health problems, and all of the information on the app has been collated from a variety of online accessible professional sources. We have many pages with links on how and where to find further, appropriate information on each topic. All of this in one, easy to access and easy to use app!

School Nurse Information –This part of the app identifies the school nurse for each secondary school and times and dates of school nurse open door sessions in the Hounslow area. This is specific to this borough and if you do not attend a school listed then this information will not be relevant to you.

Health Information and FAQs-This section contains information on a range of health topics, including puberty and sexual health, common conditions, and mental wellbeing. All of the information is accessible to everyone and provides links to evidenced based and reliable information from national charities and NHS websites. However, there are some links which may be specific to the local borough.

Contact- Access and contact with the school nursing service in Hounslow. This provides opportunities for a call back, appointment or anonymous contact with the school nurse via email or text. You can also submit any questions you would like answered on a range of health topics. .

Immunisations - Factual information and downloadable consent forms for Immunisations. Lots of this information is applicable to all young people, there may be some sections which provide information just for the local borough.
