Scraps

Scraps is an app made to reduce food waste by making it possible to share your leftovers with people in your neighbourhood.

Did you make more food than expected? Are there things you bought that will not be eaten in time?

Then share this with other people instead of throwing it in the trash. You can also ask for a bit of money to cover the ingredient expenses.

The app makes it possible to share, but also to collect leftovers. After login with your email/facebook/google account, you're able to search for leftovers in your area.

All leftovers are given a name, an image, an expiration date and information about the ingredients and why they're given away.

This way you can easily pick the leftovers you are willing to take over from someone else.

After sending a request for the leftover, you will be able to chat with the provider to ask more details and to arrange the way you will be exchanging the leftover.

The provider can then decide if he wants to give it to the person who requested the leftover and share his/her address details and phone number.

Keep in mind that we are counting on your own responsibility whether to risk eating these leftovers and/or offering fresh food to others.

In some countries (like Belgium), you will be limited in the amount of offers you can post without a registration as actor in the food chain. This is to protect the population against food poisoning.
