Structural analysis of reinforced concrete cross-sections
SectionPro is a structural analysis software for reinforced concrete sections developed by bridge engineers. Designed for civil engineering professionals, it combines high-performance computation algorithms with an intuitive, modern user interface.
GEOMETRIES
A library of standard cross-sections is available in solid and hollow variants: rectangular, circular, elliptical, hexagonal, octagonal, oblong, T-beam, shear wall. Custom geometries can be defined via XY coordinate import or primitive composition (segments, circular arcs, elliptical arcs).
MATERIAL LAWS
Concrete and steel constitutive laws are automatically generated based on the selected code and limit state (ULS, SLS, accidental). Custom laws can also be defined via stress-strain data points or polynomial functions. 7 supported codes: EC2 (Europe), ACI 318 (USA), CSA A23.3 (Canada), NBR 6118 (Brazil), IS/IRC (India), SIA 262 (Switzerland), BAEL 91 (France).
10 ANALYSIS TYPES
SectionPro offers ten analyses covering verification, design and characterization of reinforced concrete sections:
- Mechanical characteristics — Area, perimeter, centroid, moments of inertia, extreme fibers. Gross, net, or transformed section.
- Stress and strain verification — Concrete/steel stress distribution, internal forces, identification of the governing load case.
- Reinforcement design — Minimum steel area: Pivot A (steel critical) or Pivot B (concrete at ultimate).
- 3D Interaction surface — N-My-Mz resistance boundary. Adjustable mesh. Built-in 3D viewer (rotation, zoom, transparency).
- Verification via interaction surface — Load case positioning in N-My-Mz space, distance to boundary, safety margin.
- Interaction curve — 2D cross-section at fixed component. Envelope mode for rapid verification.
- Design via interaction surface — Minimum reinforcement for FS = 1.
- Stiffness curves M-chi and N-eps — Pushover analysis, cracked stiffness, EI-M and EA-N curves.
- Second-order effects — Simplified EC2 methodology: moment amplification, critical load, failure mode.
- Crack width — Characteristic crack width wk and maximum spacing sr,max per Eurocode 2.
IMPORT AND EXPORT
All project data can be imported and exported. Import geometries and load cases from external files (TXT, CSV, DAT). Export results to TXT, XLS, and PDF.
