Traditionally, four fairs are widely recognized as the Kumbh Melas: the Haridwar Kumbh Mela,

the confluence (Sangam) of the Ganges and the Yamuna and the mythical Sarasvati at Allahabad; the Godavari at Nashik; and the Shipra at Ujjain.

Bathing in these rivers is thought to cleanse a person of all sins.

The dates as per the Gregorian calender for this mela are from 22nd April 2016 till 21st May 2016.

Sadhus of various sects as well as ordinary devotees and touristfrom across the world will assemble in Ujjain and will

take their ritual dip in the holy waters of the Kshipra.
