- Uses clinical growth charts developed by the National Center for Health Statistics and the National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion to perform percentile calculations.

- Based upon the BMI values, adults will be categorized as underweight, normal weight, overweight, or as having class I, II or III obesity.

- Based upon the BMI values, children will be categorized as underweight, normal weight, overweight or obese.

- This calculator is not applicable or appropriate for children below 2 years.
