About SJUT
Jakarta Integrated Utilities Facility (SJUT)
SJUT is an abbreviation for Integrated Utility Network Facility, which in English means Integrated Utility Network Facility. This is a system for placing utility cables underground, such as telecommunications, electricity and water. The goal of SJUT is to improve the aesthetic appearance of cities by reducing overhead cable clutter, and to improve pedestrian and motorist safety by reducing the risk of accidents due to fallen cables.
SJUT is a new initiative in Jakarta, Indonesia. The city government is targeting the placement of 115 kilometers of SJUT in 2024. The project is being implemented by Jakarta Infrastruktur Propertindo (JIP), a subsidiary of the State-Owned Enterprise Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro).
The SJUT project faced several challenges, such as the need to coordinate with various utility companies and the need to obtain land rights. However, this project continues to run and is expected to make a significant contribution to improving Jakarta's urban environment.
Here are some of the benefits of SJUT:
-Improves the aesthetic appearance of cities by reducing overhead cable clutter.
-Improve the safety of pedestrians and motorists by -reducing the risk of accidents due to fallen cables.
- Reduces the risk of fire due to electrical cables.
-Improves utility company efficiency by reducing the need for maintenance and repair of overhead cables.
-Increase property values in the SJUT installation area.
SJUT is a promising new technology that has the potential to provide significant improvements to the urban environment. The project is still in its early stages, but is expected to have a major impact on the way cities are built and managed in the future.
