SmartCampus UC

SmartCampus is a free application of the Catholic University that provides information about the events and sites of interest of the university in all its campuses. More than 110,000 people enter the university campuses every year and the university infrastructure expands over time. SmartCampus seeks to facilitate the access and transit of people within the university to make it more comfortable and efficient. Your time matters to us!

SmartCampus gives the user the ability to know a large number of sites of interest of the university, such as auditoriums, bathrooms and classrooms, relevant information about them and their location on a map. It also provides information on the events offered by the university, such as their dates, schedules, organizer and description, as well as an option to know their location on a map. Participating in an event was never easier!

In case of inquiries, SmartCampus provides a list of relevant contacts for each of the campuses, including both telephone numbers and email addresses. In addition, it offers an option to call emergencies instantly.

The application also provides a special interface for users with visual disabilities including a dark mode with opaque and high contrast colors, in addition to the implementation of TalkBack and VoiceOver compatibility for accessibility.

The main features are:

1. Map and geo-location of sites: The university's sites of interest are classified by type and campus on which they are contained. The application allows you to search for particular sites or filter them according to their type, this is reflected on the map. Relevant information is also provided for each site, such as its location, floor in which it is located and in which building it is located.

2. Event information: Through a search engine, you can find the events that take place in the UC organized by date. Each event contains a description, organizer, dates and place where it will be held. For events with an associated site of interest, the application shows the location of the event on the map and allows you to open the location in any map provider of the device.

3. Important contacts: A list of useful contacts (phone and email) of UC service units, grouped according to campus, is found in the application.

4. Change of language: We think of students from abroad that it is more difficult for them to jump to Spanish and we currently have the change of language to English.

5. Do you have any visual impairment? In SmartCampus we think of you! We add a dark mode and support for VoiceOver, so you don't have problems navigating the university, its sites and events.
