Psychological testing or psychological testing is a field characterized by the use of behavioral samples to assess psychological constructs, such as cognitive and emotional functioning, about specific individuals. The technical term for the science behind psychological testing is Psychometrics. By behavioral samples, we mean observations of the tasks an individual performs which are usually predetermined, which often means scores on tests. These responses are often compiled into statistical tables that allow the evaluator to compare the behavior of the individual being tested against the group's responses to norms.
