About Sound Level Meter
A-weighted decibel meter with a measurement log, dose and CSV/PDF export
Sound Level Meter turns your phone into an A-weighted decibel meter you can rely on, and keeps a measurement log you can hand to someone else.
Most phone sound meter apps only read the microphone's raw peak level, which stops around 90 dB just where noise starts to matter. This one measures properly: A-weighted dB SPL with the same time weighting a real sound level meter uses, across the full range of the microphone, and it flags OVER RANGE when the microphone reaches its physical limit instead of pretending the number is exact.
A LOG YOU CAN USE
Save any measurement with its average (Leq), minimum, maximum, peak level and duration. The log shows how much of your daily safe exposure each one used, using both the NIOSH limit (85 dB, 3 dB exchange rate) and the OSHA limit (90 dB, 5 dB exchange rate).
EXPORT AND SHARE
Export the whole log as CSV for a spreadsheet, or generate a printable PDF report with a summary, a table of entries, your notes and the exposure figures.
WHAT IT DOES NOT DO
This is not a certified sound level meter and it is not a substitute for a calibrated instrument. Phone microphones cannot measure much above 100-120 dB, and every phone differs slightly, so the app includes a calibration offset to match a reference meter or a 94 dB calibrator if you have one.
No account, no sign-up, and your log stays on your phone.
