The SPAR Joystick app is a versatile, high-performance controller designed for makers, robotics hobbyists, and embedded systems developers. Whether you are building a four-wheeled mobile platform, configuring a wheeled rover, or testing custom robotic systems, this app eliminates the hassle of writing complex custom UI code just to talk to your hardware.

This app runs on a well researched fast wireless UDP protocol developed and tested at IIT Madras by SPAR Dynamics, a startup incubated at IIT Madras. This fast wireless protocol can use any wireless transport layer. In this case, the app uses WiFi and Bluetooth to implement this protocol for fast response times and accurate control.

Equipped with a highly responsive virtual dual-axis joystick, it sends real-time coordinates over standard wireless protocols, making it instantly compatible with a massive ecosystem of microcontrollers and modules. The precision is comparable to hardware joysticks and this app implements reverse kinematics to control very tiny micro rc-cars to 1/8th scale formula racing kits.
