First Category A (also called BetPlay Dimayor League for commercial reasons) is the first division championship of professional football in Colombia, which is organized by the Major Division of Colombian Football (Dimayor), an entity dependent on the Colombian Football Federation. Since 2002, the championship has been held twice a year, that is, two champions are declared per year, under the Opening and Closing Tournament format.
