Surah Waqiah (Al-Waqʿiah) سورة الواقعة‎; "The Inevitable" or "The Event" is the 56th surah (chapter) of the Quran. It was revealed in Mecca (see Meccan surah). The total number of verses in this surah is 96. It is part of Juz 27. It is also known as vaqia, waqiya, and Waqia.

1. The Prophet said, ‘Whoever recites surah al Waqiah at night would never encounter poverty’.
