SwitchLink

SwitchLink is a mobile platform designed to connect, monitor, and control customized Internet of Things (IoT) devices through a secure cloud-based architecture. The application functions as a flexible mobile dashboard that enables real-time communication between IoT devices and a cloud database, allowing users to monitor sensor data and control connected equipment directly from their smartphones.

The platform is built around a user-owned cloud architecture, where IoT devices communicate directly with a user’s Firebase Realtime Database. The mobile application securely reads and writes data to the same database, enabling seamless real-time synchronization between devices and the mobile interface. This design allows organizations, developers, and researchers to implement scalable IoT systems while maintaining full control over device data, authentication, and cloud configuration.

SwitchLink dynamically generates its user interface based on the structure of the device data stored in the database. Compatible devices are automatically detected, and the application intelligently converts database fields into appropriate control elements or monitoring indicators. This approach allows new devices to be integrated into the system without requiring changes to the mobile application interface.
