The focus of the Act of 2012 addresses the expiration of certain provisions of the Economic Growth and Tax Relief Reconciliation Act of 2001 and the Jobs and Growth Tax Relief Reconciliation Act of 2003. The Tax Relief, Unemployment Insurance Reauthorization, and Job Creation Act of 2010 had temporarily extended these. The Act also addresses budget sequestration provisions related to the Budget Control Act of 2011.
