Open a supported app in a floating window over the screen you are using. Check information, use a tool or reply to a conversation without going back to your Home screen.

Swiped a bubble away too soon? It waits in Recent bubbles, the + at the end of the bubble row. Tap it to bring the bubble back.

QUICK LAUNCH WITH AN EDGE PANEL

Swipe in from the edge of the screen to reach favorite apps and groups from any app. Search for an app right in the panel, then tap to launch it.

• Use the left edge, the right edge or both.

• Personalize panel color, opacity and width.

• Resize the edge handle, and long-press it to move it up or down.

• Use the floating app dock as another way to reach your shortcuts.

QUICK LAUNCH IN THE NOTIFICATION SHADE

Keep favorite apps one swipe away in the notification shade. Drag apps to reorder them, and choose whether the dock can be swiped away or stays visible.

NOTIFICATION BUBBLES

Choose which apps open a bubble when they notify you. Their bubbles appear collapsed at the edge of the screen, so you decide when to open them.

• Turn on Bubble on notification for the apps you pick.

• Add a message preview for the apps you choose.

• Tap a bubble to open the app in a floating window.

COMPATIBILITY AND PERMISSIONS

Orbit is an independent app, not a Google product or an Android system update. It does not enable Android 17 system features on other Android versions.

Floating app support depends on your device, Android version, system settings and each app. Some apps may open full screen or may not work in a bubble. Orbit does not guarantee freely resizable windows or several expanded windows at once.

Allow notifications and Bubbles in Android settings to use app bubbles. The edge panel and floating dock require permission to display over other apps. Bubble on notification requires notification access: Orbit checks which app sent a notification and reads its content only for the apps where you turn on previews.
