A little history:

Tifinag or tifinagh is a consonantal alphabet used to transcribe various Berber languages. The oldest form of tifinag is called the Libyan or Berber-Libyan alphabet, the use of which is documented from the 3rd century BC. Until the 3rd century AD. C. throughout North Africa and the Canary Islands

It is currently used to write Berber languages. There are two very different versions of this alphabet: the traditional, linked to Tamasheq, and the modern or neo-Tifinagh. It is declared as the second official language in Morocco, Algeria, Libya.
