This release supports transportation systems that have published their predictive or real time schedules via web services offered by transit agencies and solution providers such as NextBus.

This mobile app is independently created. It is not supported by any company or transit agency. This mobile app will not Trip Plan, Find your closest transit stop, Buy tickets, Use social media, Have advertisements, or track your location. GPS Lat/Lon and phone identity is not shared/transmitted.

The layout and text use on the screen is meant to be compatible with settings and applications for the visual and hearing impaired. Current smartphones have accessibility helpers such as TalkBack. USA: Section 508 (Amendment to the Rehabilitation Act of 1973) strives for mobile applications and web sites to be more accessibility for people with disabilities.

This mobile app is written using MIT App Inventor 2, which is a visual programming platform (building blocks) that is commonly taught in K12 (elementary, middle and high school. This development environment is easy to use and affordable to all age groups.

As part of the learning experience, students are given progressively more difficult exercises. Programming concepts are learned via these exercises. This app can be a practical tutorial exercise and spark student interest in their local transit agency.

Code demonstrates: GPS (selects closest departure stop from your trip list), Speech (improve communication, speaks key info), Shake (ability to shake phone to prompt a schedule refresh without pressing refresh button), Storage (saves your setting), Activity events that display stop locations on Google Maps, CSV & XML parsing.
